Today, I’m sharing the best music for barre classes (and your next workout).
Hello, friend! Let’s talk music. I’m a freestyle group fitness instructor, and I spend so much time looking for the right music to create amazing workout experiences in my classes.
To me, a great playlist has a mixture of old and new songs, has a mixture of genres and has a mixture of intensities too.
Today, I’m sharing some of the best music for barre classes that I’ve used in my own real-life barre classes at Life Time Charlotte within the last few months.
I hope you enjoy sweating to these songs as much as I have!
This music for barre classes has a range of BPMs (beats per minute). And the beats are not consistent from one song to the next, because I typically choreograph on a song-by-song basis for barre, with new moves and a new focus during each song.
I make and play all of my class music through Spotify. And for barre classes, I like to crossfade the songs by 8 seconds, so they blend together. To do that in Spotify, you go to your Profile, then go to Settings, and then choose your crossfade amount.
Disclaimer: Some of these songs are explicit. And those songs are marked with an “E” — so skip over those if you have young ears around.
If you’re an instructor and need some great music for barre classes, or if you just want some background tunes for your next workout, enjoy!
