A review of POPFLEX activewear coming at you today!
I had my eye on POPFLEX activewear for maybe two years before I finally pulled the trigger and bought something just a few weeks ago. You see, Iāve watched from afar (or from Instagram, actually) as this brand got off the ground and began growing. Iāve followed Cassey Ho, the founder and creator, for almost a decade. And Ho listens to her customers, creates thoughtful designs that fill a void in the activewear category, and she documents it all on her Instagram account. Sheās even fought off big corporations who have tried to steal her designs, and sheās applied for patents for some of her pieces. Itās pretty cool to watch.
Hoās work has come a long way. I remember when she first launched POPFLEX, there were more patterns and fluffy stuff that didnāt really resonate with me. But these days, I love almost everything on the website. Itās different than everything else out there too. Hereās what the POPFLEX website says:
Our mission is to bring more joy and comfort into your life by designing thoughtful products that solve problems.
All of that aside, what I really wanted to know is if this clothing lived up to the hype. Sure, Cassey Ho has a million adoring fans who will say they love her stuff, but is it really good stuff? Or are they just saying that it is because they like her? Letās talk about it in this one ā¦
*Disclaimer: There are affiliate links in this post. But I did purchase these items on my own. If you shop through my links, thanks for your support. šĀ
I bought four items in my first order, fully expecting to return a couple of them. Hereās how it all worked out ā¦Ā
Supersculpt Leggings with Pockets
Color Slate, size small 29 regular, $60
KEPT! The star of the show, and these totally live up to the hype! Meet the Supersculpt Leggings with Pockets. These leggings are legit. And I say that as a group fitness instructor who wears a ton of activewear and needs my activewear to perform well.Ā
First, a little backstory: Iāve been wearing the same three black leggings from Vuori for almost three years. I find that theyāre just as good as Lululemon and they hold up well for my workouts and for the classes I teach. But one of the styles is no longer available on the Vuori website, and quite frankly, I wanted to try something different, because Iām sick of them, and theyāre pricey.
I expected to return these POPFLEX leggings upon ordering them, because I often dislike new leggings. But I put these on, and man, I knew instantly I was a big fan. The fabric is soft. Theyāre high waisted. Theyāre compressive. They move well. And best of all, they have a panel inseam in the crotch area, so they donāt ride up. (Which I think all leggings should have and very few do.)Ā
When you wear these leggings, you can tell they were designed by a woman who actually works out, you know? They feel so very well thought out. I started with the Slate color, size small, 29 length, and they go all the way to my feet. For my next pair, I plan to get the Black color, size small, 27 length, so theyāre a bit shorter.Ā
These amazing leggings have one more appealing aspect: Theyāre only $60, which is super affordable for a high-quality piece of activewear. Iām a real believer in this design! Find the Supersculpt Leggings with Pockets here.
Call Me Baby Reversible Tee
Color Oat Milk, size small, $39
KEPT! Full disclosure: When this top, the Call Me Baby Reversible Tee, first arrived to me, it had tiny red stains on it. I immediately emailed the POPFLEX customer support, and they sent out a new one to me right away (and didnāt ask for me to send back the other, so I didnāt have to do anything extra as a hassle). I think that was handled very well, and once my second Call Me Baby Reversible Tee arrived, I wore it pretty quickly, because I was excited about it. Itās such a soft stretchy fabric (made of polyester and spandex), and I like the neckline and short sleeves.
Because I ordered a small, and Iām somewhat tall at 5ā8ā³, this shirt does have a bit of a cropped effect on me, when worn with high-waisted items. But itās just a sliver of stomach, definitely not too much. If youād rather not show any stomach, size up.
Now hereās something cool: This top is reversible. You can wear the crewneck to the front or reverse it and make it a boatneck. Iāve only worn it one way so far, and maybe Iāll try the other way next time.
The best feature of this top is the soft buttery fabric for sure. You can dress it up or down, and itās one of those staple items in the closet that youāll reach for again and again.
Iāve worn it with jeans and with leggings so far. And this design lives up to the hype. Find the Call Me Baby Reversible Tee here.
Perfect Plane Pants
Color Black, size small regular, $85
KEPT! I hadnāt seen these pants before until I was adding things to my cart on my first POPFLEX shopping spree, and I wasnāt sure how they would feel in person. Well, the Perfect Plane Pants are a very versatile piece of clothing. Theyāre soft, but not too soft. Theyāre wide leg, but fitted at the waist. Theyāre super casual, but yet they somehow still look somewhat put together.
Made from cotton and spandex, these pants have a roomier fit, which I enjoy. I do see them as an excellent choice for traveling, but so far Iāve only worn mine for a very informal dinner party at our house with visiting family. They have a little slit at the bottom for wearing with sneakers, and I do think Iāll appreciate that aspect once I finally wear these with shoes.
I hadnāt heard any hype about these pants, but if they had any, theyād live up to it. Love them! Find the Perfect Plane Pants here.
Pirouette Skort
Color Black, size small, $60
KEPT! This is the item that catapulted the POPFLEX brand into the spotlight, because Taylor Swift was seen wearing this skirt in the lilac color last summer in an Instagram video.
Itās a cute skirt/skort, and Iāve wanted it for a long time. When it arrived and I put it on, I could immediately see what all the hype is about! Meet, the Pirouette Skort. Perhaps my favorite skirt/skort Iāve ever owned.
I honestly donāt know if Iāll ever wear it to work out or to play tennis, because I think Iāll wear it as a regular piece of clothing.
Itās high waisted. The shorts under the skirt have pockets and another panel inseam (thank goodness). The skirt is a tid bit longer in the back, so it isnāt too short, which is an iteration of the design that Cassey Ho put out based on user feedback on the first generation skirt. I know that fact from following her on Instagram, and I love that she listens and updates her products as she grows and learns from her customers.
This skirt/skort comes in a bunch of colors and sizes (XXS to 3XL to be exact, as do most other POPFLEX items), and I can fully see myself getting a second color. This skirt is made from polyester and spandex, and youāre supposed to let it hang dry. I havenāt washed mine yet, but I will be following instructions on this item.
The Pirouette Skort in a small fits me so well, even though the shorts are slightly snug on my inner thighs, but I donāt mind that at all.
By the way, when you put this skirt on, you just want to twirl. If you order it, youāll see what I mean. Itās just a happy piece of clothing through and through and perhaps my favorite item from my first haul of POPFLEX, even though I know Iāll get more everyday use out of the leggings mentioned above. Find the Pirouette Skort here.

And there you have it! Based on my first order, I can safely say in this review of POPFLEX activewear that this brand does in fact live up to the hype. I feel great in all four items, and I donāt always feel that way when I try things on from a new-to-me brand.
The POPFLEX website is user friendly, and it features models in different sizes (XXS to 3X), as well as plenty of real-life customer reviews on each item. I found the ordering process pretty seamless, and I did chose the āunlimited returnā option, which is $1.98 per order, and it covers the cost of returns, if needed. However, I didnāt need to return or exchange, which is awesome. Also, you get free shipping on any order in the U.S. over $100.
There was one item I really wanted to order which was out of stock, and I think the more popular stuff does become unavailable at times. Thatās pretty normal with activewear brands, so I guess you need to act quickly when you see something you like.
Cassey Ho and her team release new color drops here and there too, so thatās another good reason to head to the site and browse around. I signed up for the POPFLEX emails to stay in the know, and I got a 10 percent discount on my first order based on signing up for emails as well, so look out for that.
I love finding new/growing brands, especially those that are women-owned, and POPFLEX is truly deserving of a browse. I definitely expect to order more items, and Iāll keep you posted if I do.Ā
*Sidenote: POPFLEX can only be purchased on the POPFLEX site. Cassey Ho did design a slightly more affordable iteration called BLOGILATES sold exclusively at Target, and while those pieces were cute, I didnāt purchase any and was more drawn to the real deal.
What I want to order next from POPFLEX
Here are the items I have my eye on for my next POPFLEX order ā¦
Thanks for reading my review of POPFLEX activewear. Moral of the story: This brand is definitely deserving of a look, and Iām totally into it. Have an amazing day, and let me know if you try anything!
