What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation has always been the results. I thrive on seeing muscles in the mirror and watching my hard work pay off. These days, though,Ā IāmĀ driven by the vision of having a badass physique well into my later years. Itās about redefining what aging looks like.Ā IāllĀ catch my reflection and think, āWow,Ā IāmĀ almost 50, and I look and feel amazing.ā Thatās incredibly empowering and keeps me pushing through, even on the tough days. For me, itās not just about the now; itās about setting a standard for myself and showing others whatās possible at any age.
How did you change your eating habits?
I focus on eating a balanced diet centered around lean proteins, plenty of vegetables, and complex carbohydrates. Over time, Iāve learned to prioritize whole, nutrient-dense foods that fuel my body and support my fitness goals. IĀ didnātĀ follow a specific plan. Instead, I found what works for me through consistency and trial & error. I also pay attention to portion sizes and aim to keep my meals simple, satisfying, and aligned with my goals. Itās not about restrictionāitās about fueling my body in a way that helps me feel and perform my best.
What is your workout routine?
My workout routine is all about consistency and pushing my limits. I lift heavy weights five to six days a week, focusing on building strength and sculpting my body. I split my workouts into two leg days, two push days (chest, shoulders, and triceps), andĀ oneĀ pull day (back and biceps) to target every muscle group. On three of those days, I add cardioāusually on the treadmill or ellipticalāto boost my endurance and keep my heart healthy.Ā
How often did you work out?
5-6 days a week
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 250 pounds. My lowest weight was around 165 pounds. My current weight is 180 pounds.Ā
What is your height?
5ā4ā³
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I had weight loss surgery on September 16, 2019. (gastric sleeve) Iāve been gaining, losing, and maintaining for over 5 years.Ā
What is the biggest lesson youāve learned so far?
The biggest lesson Iāve learned is that thereās no finish line when it comes to fitness. Itās an ongoing journey, and honestly, thatās what makes it so rewarding. Instead of chasing an end goal, Iāve embraced the process and made it a way of life. For me, itās about showing up every day to be my happiest, healthiest, and strongest self. Knowing that thereās always room to grow and improve keeps me motivated and excited for whatās next.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to find inspiration in others, butĀ donātĀ fall into the trap of comparing your journey to anyone elseās. Everyoneās path is unique, and what works for someone else might not work for you, and thatās okay. Focus on what feels good for your body and what aligns with your goals. Be patient with yourself, celebrate small wins along the way, and remember that consistency matters more than perfection.
