Five new clean beauty products Iāve been using: Review of Thrive Causemetics.
Hi, friend! How are you? We just finished up spring break over here. Outside of a weekend trip to see my brother in Atlanta, we were mostly business as usual with the gym, work and sports, so the days flew by. I enjoyed spending more time with Brady every day, and I didnāt miss packing his lunch or going through the school drop-off line at all. Itās crazy that there are only a few weeks left of school before summer begins!
Now, letās talk make-up ā¦
As most of you know, Iām a clean-beauty lover, and Iāve been loyal to the same brand for many years. While Beautycounter was my brand of choice for more than seven years, that company is currently on a hiatus (and it should be relaunching in the summer of 2025). That means that Iāve been trying new clean make-up brands to find some staple products. And over the last year or so, Iāve tried some things I like and some things I donāt like.
Today, itās all about a few products Iāve enjoyed and am actively using in my rotation right now, all from Thrive Causemetics.Ā I learned about Thrive Causemetics from Instagram ads. And I kept seeing the same ads over and over again, so I finally decided to order some lip products and a brow product. I really liked both, and then went on to place a few more orders.
Hope you enjoy this one and find it helpful, in case youāre in the mood to try something new too.
Letās do a review of Thrive Causemetics ā¦
Instant Brow Fix Tinted Semipermanent Brow Gel
I was looking to replace a tinted brow gel that I really enjoyed from Beautycounter, and I think this Instant Brow Fix from Thrive Causemetics is probably better than what I was using before. (And I believe itās about the same price.)
While itās called āsemipermanentā it doesnāt appear to actually stay on your brows any longer than the day of applying it, but it really coats them and shapes them well. I ordered the Audrey/Medium Brown shade, because I like to make my naturally light eyebrows a bit darker.
The gel goes on easily, defines my brows and makes them look much more full. And this is a make-up item that I try not to leave the house without. My one tube of brow tint lasted for several months, and Iām just now opening up a fresh tube. If you like to manicure your brows, this product is a great choice. Empower Matte Precision Lipstick Crayon
Itās like a lipstick and a lip liner all in one!
So, I try to choose cleaner and nontoxic versions of most of my personal care products, and the one area I truly do not compromise is on lip products. When you put something on your lips, you ingest it, so for me ā what I put on my lips needs to be toxin free.
As someone who loves to have a little lip color when Iām out and about, I was in the market for a good, clean, long-lasting lip color and was hoping not to need a lip liner as well. I just so happened to be Instagram-marketed-to about this particular product ā Empower Matte Precision Lipstick Crayon ā and Iāve now ordered three different shades because I like it so much. I only have two crayons right now though, because one fell out of my purse at an event in January, and that was sad.
Basically this product is like a chunky lip liner that you can use to fill in your lips, and it has great staying power. I actually think I prefer this to lipstick, because you can be more precise with it.
In these photos, Iām wearing the Evelyn/Pink shade, but Iāve also worn the Lara/Red Orange shade. Find the Empower Matte Precision Lipstick Crayon here.
Sheer Strength Hydrating Shine Lip Tint
This is the real MVP, because Iām on my second tube of Sheer Strength Hydrating Lip Shine Tint, and itās the perfect lip product to keep in your bag for a dose of minimal color, minimal shine and a lot of moisture.
I put this on for teaching classes, and I put it on over the lip crayon from above too. Right now, Iām using the Neeli/Peach Coral shade, but I also used the Klara/Muted Rose and enjoyed the look of that one too.Ā
Itās definitely a sheer understated color, and itās just what your lips need so you arenāt too done up, but have a little something on there. I always have this in my purse, and Iām a big fan of this lip product. Find the Sheer Strength Hydrating Shine Lip Tint here.
Sheer Strength Lip Plumper Peptide Gloss
Even though the Hydrating Shine Lip Tint from above is always in my purse, sometimes Iām in the mood for more of a glossy finish. Thatās where the Sheer Strength Lip Plumper Peptide Gloss comes into play.
Everyone has those days that you just want super shiny lips, and this gloss delivers. I havenāt used it a ton, but I really like it when I do.
I have the Bamby/Pink Golden Shimmer shade, and I can see this as being my go-to lip product in the summer with a dewy glow on the face. Find the Sheer Strength Lip Plumper Peptide Gloss here.
Buildable Blur CC Cream Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 40
I found another tinted moisturizer I loved from Oliveda, but it doesnāt have SPF, so in the spring and summer I wanted to find an alternative.
I decided to try this Buildable Blur CC Cream Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 40 because I wanted the addition of the sunscreen. I ordered Shade 160 Light/Neutral, and itās a perfect match for my skin.
Iāve been wearing this light coverage every single day, and it makes my skin look very natural, just more evenly colored all over. I can see reordering this product and using it as my go-to daily foundation throughout the summer and beyond.
The tube is easy to use, there seems to be a decent amount of product in there, and it stays on well. Overall, a solid product and one Iād recommend to a friend. Find the Buildable Blur CC Cream Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 40 here.
I also ordered the Buildable Blur Creaseless Concealer, and it seemed like a little less under-eye coverage than the Beautycounter concealer I had been wearing (which is old, because I bought it more than a year ago, and itās almost out). Itās possible I didnāt get the right shade when I ordered the concealer, but I tried it once and didnāt love it, so I sent it back. And the return process was super easy.
(Hereās my Easter dress, shown in the photos above. Iām in a small, and I loved wearing it so much, I kept it on for these pictures.)
A few other things to note in this review of Thrive Causemetics
- The website is very user friendly, and itās easy to see the make-up shades and how they look on different skin-tones.
- The products are Leaping Bunny Certified, 100 percent vegan and cruelty free, as well as free of harmful toxins and harmful ingredients you donāt want to put on your skin.
- Thrive Causemetics gives back. This company donates to a ton of nonprofits through both funds and products.
- The prices are reasonable, and I feel like the products are worth their cost.
- The ordering and return process is very simple, and you check out through Shop, which I always prefer, because all my information is already saved.
I definitely plan to place another order in a few weeks, and Iām thinking of trying the Brilliant Eye Brightener next. Overall, Iāve been incredibly pleased with this brand, and I felt like the sharing the love with you today!
