Last week, I co-taught an all Taylor Swift music workout class, and it was a blast!
If you’re new here, I’m a group fitness instructor at Life Time Charlotte, a Swiftie, a music lover and a content creator. I spend a ton of time choosing playlists and choreographing workouts to match the music. And from time to time, I like to share some of that work with you.
Last Friday night, I co-hosted an all Taylor Swift music workout class with two other instructors, and it was such an amazing time. We had a full house of happy Swifties, and we moved our bodies to the beat of Taylor Swift’s music. We exchanged friendship bracelets, we wore face glitter, and we even did a group dance after class. The vibe was right!
This was a barre-style workout done off the barre in the center of the room, called Life Barre Fusion at Life Time. We used a Pilates ball, some light dumbbells, one gliding disc, a mat and a balance barre as the equipment.
The class was 60 minutes long, followed by a 30-minute social, where we had refreshments and even learned the dance from “The Fate of Ophelia” music video. Our event attendees were smiling from ear to ear, and so were we. (In fact, I’m smiling now, just thinking about it!)
Today, I’m going to share the playlist that we used for this class.
Each instructor chose our own songs, and we all used original Taylor Swift songs — no remixes or club remasters. Purposefully, we each included songs from the newest album (which came out two weeks before the event), as well as some older songs from various albums. We also put a transition song in the playlist for when we switched instructors, and those two transition songs are marked with an asterisk.
Hope you enjoy listening to these fun Taylor Swift songs …
- “The Fate of Ophelia”
- “I Forgot That You Existed”
- “The Story Of Us”
- “CANCELLED!”
- “Now That We Don’t Talk”
- “Bejeweled”*
- “22”
- “… Ready for it?”
- “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things”
- “Cruel Summer”
- “Opalite”
- “Mastermind”*
- “I Did Something Bad”
- “Honey”
- “Love Story”
- “Actually Romantic”
- “Haunted”
- “Willow”
And those are some great Taylor Swift jams! Honestly, it was super hard for us to narrow down our selections, because Taylor Swift songs work so well for group fitness.
Hit play on this playlist in Spotify, and take yourself for a weighted-vest walk on a nice day — you may find yourself walking to the beat.
