What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation has always been my family. I’ve watched my mom die of heart disease. My father died after multiple strokes. My grandmother lived with, suffered from, and died with diabetes. My goal is to break the generational pattern that came before me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started the World’s Greatest Transformation program known as the 40 Day Turn-Up! Dr. Joe teaches you what to eat, when to eat, and why you are eating the foods you eat. I ate clean, God’s Food, if you will.
What is your workout routine?
During the six weeks of the program, I did a lot of cardio using Shaun T workouts, walking, biking, and using my hula hoop. I also love doing Bodi workouts at home.
How often did you work out?
I worked out daily.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
On March 1st, I weighed 177.1 pounds, and I ended the program on April 12th at 157.9 pounds.
What is your height?
Somewhere between 5’3 and 5’4, Lol.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I feel like I’ve been on my journey forever and will probably be on it for the rest of my life. I’ve always been overweight. I changed my diet and started working out in 2017.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned to be open minded and open to change. I was doing my own thing which wasn’t working for me anymore. I had to be open to a new process and ways of eating and that open led to success. This year I also invited God into my health journey. I wanted to implement biblical principles. I purchased books that focused on God and losing weight and I joined Dr. Joes World’s Greatest Transformation Process, the 40 Day Turn-up, where he teaches biblical principles and stresses that our issues with weight have spiritual elements that we need to work through.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Weight loss surgery is not a part of my journey.
What advice would you share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to women who want to lose weight is to keep learning, keep moving, keep praying and don’t stop. Although times get hard when you stop trying you are guaranteed to fail.
